What Litmu can help with

Litmu reads visible nutrition and ingredient labels from a camera or photo-library image. It extracts food data with AI, computes HENI health-minute scoring locally in the app, identifies NOVA and ultra-processed signals, explains additives, highlights personal alerts, and lets you ask AI follow-up questions about the current scan.

Common questions

Do I need a barcode?

No. Litmu focuses on the label itself, so it can analyze products even when a barcode result is unavailable or not detailed enough.

Why can a scan fail?

A scan can fail when the photo is blurry, cropped, low contrast, missing the ingredient or nutrition panel, or when the API cannot extract enough usable label data.

What does the HENI score mean?

The result estimates health-minute impact from extracted label data using deterministic scoring in the app. It is decision support, not medical advice.

What is stored in history?

Scan history is stored locally on your device. Free users keep the recent 100 history items, while Pro unlocks full local history.

What does Pro include?

Pro includes higher monthly AI analysis and current-scan chat limits, full local history, Daily Impact, and Monthly Insights based on local scan history.

How do I manage a subscription?

Litmu subscriptions are handled by the App Store. You can manage or cancel the subscription through your Apple account subscription settings.

Safety notes

Check the package directly

Litmu analyzes visible label information and may miss unclear, hidden, incomplete, or incorrectly printed details. Always verify the product package before buying or eating.

Not medical advice

Litmu does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical nutrition guidance. For severe allergies or medical dietary needs, consult a qualified professional.

Troubleshooting tips

Improve photo quality

Fill the frame with the nutrition or ingredient label, keep the package flat, avoid glare, and retake the scan if text is cut off.

Ask about the current scan

Use chat for follow-up questions about the current result, such as why a driver mattered, what an additive does, or how the product relates to your saved preferences.
